Just a sampling of the many Project Linus events in 2025 that we host here at PLACE (Project Linus Activity Center Extraordinaire).
January
One of the amazing groups that makes numerous blankets for the Greater Pittsburgh Area Project Linus Chapter is Holiday Park Church in Monroeville. Here are some pictures of their quilts on display awaiting a blessing by the minister.
March
South Fayette High School National Honor Society
On March 8, we hosted South Fayette High School National Honor Society members for a few hours of community service work. They were a great group of young men and women who worked tirelessly for two hours, helping to clean and organize the storefront. The event was organized by Nora Provenzano, whose grandmother Adele is a quilter and Project Linus volunteer. Their moderator Mrs. Quirk was present with her grandson Brady who received a Project Linus blanket when he was an infant.
BNY Volunteers
Another great day with BNY employees doing a day of service
at our store front on May 30. Many are repeat volunteers and there were three volunteering with
Project Linus for the first time. They are always a wonderful and hard working crew!
Some of the fleece donated by volunteers who took advantage of the bargains during Joann's final days. Thank you!
Bags of blankets ready for the first of the month deliveries. Over 1,000 blankets in
and out EVERY month! What an amazing group of volunteers.
