​Members of the the Ruth Circle group from Heritage Church in Ligonier made their semi-annual drop off.  There were 500 assorted blankets in this batch.  Thank you!
On Saturday, May 6 we had a Linus Learner class on how to make a floss tied small quilt. If you have wanted to learn to make quilts but are intimidated by the machine quilting process, this is a great way to start!  To see other classes held in 2023 along with instructions click HERE.

Community Partnership Day I

June

On Saturday, June 10 we had another Linus Learner class.  This one was how to make mid-size fleece blankets from kits available at the storefront.  To see other classes held in 2023 along with instructions click HERE.

July

The Duck Donut store located in Upper St. Clair held a fundraiser for our chapter on July 2.  The store donated 20% of the sales from that day to Project Linus. What better excuse to eat a donut!

August

We once again had the privilege to provide blankets for Camp Chihopi.  This is a summer camping experience for children ages 7 to 15 who have received liver transplants and/or intestine transplants.  For more information about Camp Chihopi click HERE.

​For three days in August, volunteers from the Pittsburgh Project Linus Chapter manned a
table at the Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival, held at a local hotel. They used their skills to
wind yarn for attendees, provided information about Project Linus and raffled off several
baskets containing specialty yarns.  In the Community Room our volunteers also taught interested attendees how to crochet edges on fleece.

On Saturday, September 16 we had another Linus Learner class.  This one was on how to make a simple and quick "I Spy" quilt with 6 1/2" square blocks.  To see other classes held in 2023 along with instructions for this quilt click HERE.

Make A Difference Day Luncheon

Our Chapter had a booth at the 19th annual Handmade Arcade's 2023 Holiday Market.  Volunteers spent a busy day explaining the mission of Project Linus, holding a yarn basket raffle and teaching interested attendees how to crochet edges on fleece.​
