Thank you for grabbing a brown bag filled with wonderful fabric! By doing so, you are helping us empty some of our fabric bins and you will be providing the comfort of a beautiful quilt to a needy child.
The fabric in your brown bag has been selected with care and consideration, reflecting either a color or theme, as indicated by the marking on the outside of the bag. Pieces of fabric are generally between 9-35 inches in length. The expectation is that you use the fabric contained in the brown bag and feel free to add fabric from your own "stash" to complete your quilt.
Because our need for mid-size quilts (approx. 36 x 45) is always great, it would be truly wonderful if your completed quilt was in that size range.
Once you have completed your quilt, submit it to Project Linus via your usual method. In addition to your name tag, please attach the enclosed "Brown Bag Blanket" tag to the silk Project Linus label with a piece of yarn.
When we see the "Brown Bag Blanket" tag, we will take a picture of the quilt and post it on our chapter webpage - www.projectlinuspgh.org. The tag will be removed and the quilt will go into our usual distribution flow.
Once we have about 20 "Brown Bag Blanket" pictures on our website, we will initiate the process for people to vote for their favorite of the quilts. There will be a two- to three- week voting period. At the conclusion of the voting, the winner will receive a $10 gift card to Eat'n Park. The current pictures will then be removed and the process will start over with new quilts.
