We’ve had some generous donations of quilting fabric and our bins are full. In July we had our first Stash Buster Saturday, giving away fabric pieces from 9” to 36”. The goal was to make a Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt top. The expectation is that you use the selected fabric and feel free to add fabric from your own "stash" to complete your quilt.
Because our need for mid-size quilts (approx. 36 x 45) is always great, it would be truly wonderful if your completed quilt was in that size range.
Once you have completed your quilt, submit it to Project Linus via your usual method. At the give away we will distribute a special “Stash Buster Quilt” cardboard tag with each fabric bundle, to be attached to your completed quilt when you are donating it.
When we see the "Stash Buster Quilt" tag, we will take a picture of the quilt and post it on our chapter webpage - www.projectlinuspgh.org. The tag will be removed and the quilt will go into our usual distribution flow.
Once we have about 20 "Stash Buster Quilt" pictures on our website, we will initiate the process for people to vote for their favorite of the quilts similar to our Brown Bag Blanket contest. At the conclusion of the voting, the winner will receive a $10 gift card to Eat'n Park. The current pictures will then be removed and the process will start over with new quilts.
